The Danvers Community YMCA is one of the oldest and largest social institutions in Danvers. The organization is a mission-based, independent, small YMCA that has been serving Danvers and the surrounding communities since 1950. This YMCA provides childcare, summer camp, water safety and aquatics, enrichment and programs for at youth at risk, senior focused programs, family engagement, and overall health and wellness offerings. The Childcare Center, located on the first floor, includes three childcare classrooms and a teen lounge, supported by multi-use and shared gross-motor spaces. This popular local program serves over 100 children annually through a licensed Preschool and School Age After School, and runs a waitlist. As a leader in the communities we serve, the Danvers Y strives to make a positive impact for youth, seniors, the disabled, veterans, and those who are financially burdened. The Y does not turn anyone away for an inability to pay.
